How To Reach Us

Terralcantara is located in the Valley of the Alcantara River, a few kilometers from Taormina and Mount Etna and in the heart of the Alcantara River Park.

By Car

From Messina, go north until you reach the A18 Messina - Catania to Catania.
Exit at the Giardini Naxos exit.

To reach Terralcantara and surroundings, once off the exit of Giardini Naxos, take the first turn left towards Chiachitta - Francavilla di Sicilia, proceed straight and at the rotunda take the first exit left towards Chianchitta / Francavilla di Sicilia.

Follow the directions to the Alcantara Gorge and continue on the SS 185 in the direction of Francavilla di Sicilia. Drive past Trappitello and Gaggi; after the Petrolo bridge turn left towards Francavilla di Sicilia, after about a mile on the left you will see the entrance gate of the Country Resort "Poggio" (Municipality of Graniti); after a few hundred meters on the right you will see the gate for the Country Resort "House of Nuns" (Municipality of Graniti).

Continue on SS 185 in the direction of Francavilla di Sicilia, and after about 1 km take a left towards Mitogio at the crossroads; and turning left after the old bridge over the river, you will immediately find the Country Resort "Il Borgo" .(Municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia).  From the crossroads to Mitogio, continuing on towards SS.185 Francavilla di Sicilia after 1.5 km you will find ample parking on the left and the entrance of the Alcantara Gorge Botanical and Geological Park (Municipality of Motta Camastra). In the same parking lot you will also find the entrance of the Villa of the Gorge (Municipality of Motta Camastra).

From Catania

Take the A18 Messina - Catania towards Messina. Exit at the Giardini Naxos and follow the directions already given for those coming from Messina.

By Ferry

From Catania, once landed by ferry with your car, follow the above instructions.

By Plane

From Catania Fontanarossa, rent a car, follow the SP70 and join the E45 ring road from Catania to Messina. Take the exit at Giardini Naxos and follow the directions already given for those coming from Messina.

From Messina or Catania, along the E45 A18 Catania - Messina motorway exit at Giardini - Naxos.

Also exiting from the exit of Giardini Naxos continue on SS 185 in the direction of Francavilla di Sicilia, after about 13 km you will see the Country Resort "Il Poggio" and, nearby the Country Resort ”Casa delle Monache" (both in the Municipality of Graniti).

Continue for about 1 km, then you deviate from the SS 185 in the direction Mitogio SP.81 and, after crossing the historic bridge over the Alcantara Arab River, you come very quickly to the Country Resort "Il Borgo" (Municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia). Continuing along the SS 185 in Francavilla di Sicilia is the Botanical and Geological Park and the Alcantara Gorge, and the Villa Gorge (in the Municipality of Motta Camastra).

All Country Resorts and Alcantara Gorge Botanical and Geological Park are located within a radius of about 3 to 4 miles, so it’s always within easy reach.
