Discover the Alcantara Gorge

our trails, to discover a unique spectacle

Alcantara Gorge is a unique spectacle. High as 50 feet, is a veritable canyon originated from ancient lava flows crossed the center from the icy waters of the Alcantara River.

Today you can visit this canyon studded with spectacular natural rock structures, ponds and waterfalls, through our four guided trails accessible year-round.

The Gorge Trail will lead you to discover the Terrace of Venus and the Muses balcony of the Grand Canyon, along paths strewn with enchanting landscapes; the Alcantara trail and the Venere Trail the trails are suitable for water trekkers; at least the Eleonora trail.

To walk the trails, you must

Remember, to walk the Terralcantara trails you must:

  • Rent overalls, boots and wet suits to enter the icy waters of the river
  • Wear casual clothes and sneakers or hiking boots
  • Always follow the designated trails
  • Never leave personal items or waste along the route

Walks, Food Tastings & Cooking Classes

Do you want to enjoy a relaxing walk or becoming an accomplished chef, with cooking classes of Terralcantara?


In addition to our Guided Trails, you can join in numerous other activities, such as Walks, 4 beautiful outdoor walks in the woods and citrus groves of the park, or the Sicilian cooking Classes, to become skilled chefs in Sicily, or again you can try the traditional local food gathering, such as olives and citrus.
